Well, Here I go.

As of April the 1st (No this isn't a joke) I threw my name into the 2010 race for Jefferson County Commission. I believe that President Obama has started a movement with the youth that cannot stop with this one election. I am a firm believer that now we have this momentous force behind us and it is the young peoples time to shine. Keeping that in mind I started talking to people around me and others that I have worked with in campaign's past. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that it is worth a shot. I dream of a life in public service and I am told by people I wish to follow that I am in the perfect age of life to start. While only being twenty-one, I have surrounded myself and have become very active in the Democratic party from blogging about issues very much important, to working my way up the chain of command from Secretary to Vice President to President of the Tallahassee Community College Democrats. I am currently serving as the President of Political Affairs for the Leon County Young Democrats and am the President of the Jefferson County Democrats. The title that I am most humble of however, is I am the Vice President of the Jefferson County Democratic Party. I feel that I can bring a very charismatic voice to the Commission table for the People of District 4 and would be very grateful for the opportunity. I am aware that there is alot of time between here and the next election and my hope is that I get to meet every person in the district before you go to the polls next year. I hope to hear your dreams and aspirations of all we can make Jefferson county, not by one man but by one voice. I want Jefferson county to be a place that people go off to college and come back too, not abandon forever. I want it to grow and prosper for our children and grand children, give them a place to be proud of when they lay their heads down at night. I will work to preserve our historically agricultural backbone as well as our beautiful and scenic environment. I want to work to help keep the adventurous Wacissa river clean and safe for everybody who wants to view its underwater treasures and enjoy its crisp waters. I want to help those that are trying to help themselves, by not giving a hand out but, offering assistance to those already helping themselves. I am a Volunteer Firefighter for Lloyd Volunteer Fire Rescue and have seen the capacity of people pulling together in times of need. There is never a time when it does not warm my heart and reminds me that there is still that part of America where "Down home" still exists. I hope to represent District Four in the near future and be the open door between you and the Commission.

Sincerely,
Scott. R. Goodlin
