Acid Test is finally here!

About ACID TEST: The Movie
Citizens,

Please check this out. I have heard about this for awhile and have been waiting for it. According to the site,

"ACID TEST, a film produced by NRDC, was made to raise awareness about the largely unknown problem of ocean acidification, which poses a fundamental challenge to life in the seas and the health of the entire planet. Like global warming, ocean acidification stems from the increase of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere since the start of the Industrial Revolution.

Leading scientific experts on the problem, many of whom appear in the film and the outtakes below, believe that it's possible to cut back on global warming pollution, improve the overall health and durability of our oceans, and prevent serious harm to our world, but only if action is taken quickly and decisively.

The film originally aired on Discovery Planet Green. An Entertainment Industry Foundation grant provided the core funding for this film. Cinematographers Howard and Michele Hall and Nel Boshoff provided footage, and many other people assisted greatly in the making of ACID TEST. To learn more about the movie and who was responsible for it (and get an idea of what it was like to work with narrator Sigourney Weaver), read co-director Daniel Hinerfeld's blog."

THESE SENATORS VOTED AGAINST RAPE VICTIMS!!!

Hey Citizens,

Normally I do not like to send extreme political things to everybody in my email list but sometimes things go too far and I believe that this is one of the times. Please read this and send it on if you believe that as great Martin Luther King, Jr. said " “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"

According to Think Progress.org

"In 2005, Jamie Leigh Jones was gang-raped by her co-workers while she was working for Halliburton/KBR in Baghdad. She was detained in a shipping container for at least 24 hours without food, water, or a bed, and “warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she’d be out of a job.” (Jones was not an isolated case.) Jones was prevented from bringing charges in court against KBR because her employment contract stipulated that sexual assault allegations would only be heard in private arbitration.

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) proposed an amendment to the 2010 Defense Appropriations bill that would withhold defense contracts from companies like KBR “if they restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court.” Speaking on the Senate floor yesterday, Franken said:"The constitution gives everybody the right to due process of law … And today, defense contractors are using fine print in their contracts do deny women like Jamie Leigh Jones their day in court. … The victims of rape and discrimination deserve their day in court [and] Congress plainly has the constitutional power to make that happen."

30 Senators voted against the amendment on Oct 6th, 2009:

Alexander (R-TN)
Barrasso (R-WY)
Bond (R-MO)
Brownback (R-KS)
Bunning (R-KY)

"So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause"

Citizens,

I come to you today in mourning. I as well as the State of Florida have failed you. The Rated R Revolution never likes to admit fault but by God we obviously didn't work hard enough for you, the People.

Today will go down in history as not only the Eve of the Afghanistan War but also the day that Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis "dismissed misconduct charges against ex-House Speaker Ray Sansom and two co-defendants, putting the case in doubt."

Here is what the Judge wrote in his release today which by the way, personally infuriates me:
"`Based upon their findings, one can understand the frustration and indignation apparent in the presentment of the grand jury,''

``It is also natural to want to punish those involved.

``But not every wrongful conduct is a crime. Sometimes the remedy for such conduct must be political rather than judicial. This is one of those situations.''

I have to disagree with the Judge on this. Political Action is called for when the Representatives no longer listen to their constituents. Judicial action is called for when:

1. 6 million dollars goes toward you building your buddies a private hanger at the airport

2. AS WELL AS using in excess of $30 million dollars of the public's money for personal gain

3. AS WELL AS EVIDENCE PROVING THAT Sansom funneled this money to Northwest Florida State College in the past several years. In return, that college hired Sansom at an annual salary of $110,000.

To sum it up according to the Miami Hearld: "The Miami Herald/St. Petersburg Times Tallahassee Bureau reported how Sansom had helped the small school get $35 million in extra or accelerated funding, including $6 million for the Destin Airport building in 2007."

*NEWSFLASH!* : THIS IS WHERE I EXPECT THE JUDGES OF OUR STATE THAT WE ELECT TO DO THEIR JOB

That is why I titled this post the way it is. When people, no matter what hierarchy level they are on applaud these sort of actions, Liberty dies just a little more each time.

"So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause"

I promise you citizens that We here at the Rated R Revolution will not stop until we bring you justice. We will continue the investigation into these allegations and do our best for Justice to be served.

Crist Appointee to PSC Promotes Drug Use, Sexism and Simulated Sex Acts at Club

Holy Hell Citizens!

Earlier today betwixt me yelling and cussing at the IOC for not allowing me to have "Obama-olympics," News broke about some scraight up ignorance dealing with the Florida Public Service Commission. Seems that "Cabana Rama" Charlie has chosen a new member of said commission. Normally "The Rated R Revolution" wouldn't have an issue with the on goings and business of this man BUT, if the person has a decision in how much our electricity costs, well we have problems.

Citizens, I do this for one reason and one reason alone. Things like this prove that the Republicans of todays day and age refuse to accept that you cannot hide the sleazy things of a persons character and still expect the good people of this State to look in the other direction. Long story short in the words of King Leonidas "The world will know that free men stood against a tyrant, that few stood against many, and before this battle was over, even a god-king can bleed."

From the Miami Herald:

Gov. Charlie Crist called the Herald/Times today to underscore his interest in having the Public Service Commission postpone its ruling on the rate case and to comment on the uproar over his nominee, Steve Stevens, who owns a bar and lounge.

Crist critics are circulating ads from Rick's Cabana Lounge advertising "Lingerie Fantasy Fests," "Wet Dream Shots," and a "Get 'Layed' Sunday Night Luau.'

"It's really despicable,'' Crist said. "They're doing it because they're frustrated, because they can't raise rates..That kind of political destruction is over and I don't accept it.''

He continued to defend Stevens, the former finance director of the Escambia County sheriff's department who is half-owner and manager of the bar. "Enough is enough,'' Crist said. "I picked him because he's an honest man and he's trying to earn a living. The politics of personal destruction is wrong. They're frustrated because they can't get more out of the people so they're going after him."

Does it bother you that he runs a rather 'racy' bar? "What does racy mean?,'' he answered?

As close to a strip club as you can get. "It's never as bad as they make it out to be,'' he said. "He's trying to make a living and because they're not beholden to FPL and Progress Energy and whoever else, they get attacked. I've had it with that stuff.''

Crist added that "it was time to clean house'' and that he has heard a storm of complaints about his picks. "The entire utility establishment is not happy with your governor today,'' he said. ''That's okay. I don't work for them. I work for you. I work for the people."
