My Thoughts

Citizens,

As I sit here winding down for the night, I thought it would be a great time to think about this Oil Spill Situation from a different aspect. Please keep in mind that I called this, as many of you did 3 1/2 miles out & now as we clean it up, all we can say is "I told you so".

For one second thought lets think about this from BP's Point of view. Let's say we are all sitting around the super secrete boardroom, having super secrete meeting. The topic of conversation is "Free Publicity". It's already obvious that BP has not followed the proper procedures to put a rig in the ocean, they have not been successful in tripping the well's blowout preventer Which would kill the oil flow & in my opinion are in no real hurry to clean it up. and why should they, Their name is in the news and there is no such thing as bad publicity. Yea, they are doing the "PR" thing with the hearings and the "Oh were sorry" but are they really?

As any 9 year old will tell you, the only reason they are sorry is because they got caught. As Total Nonstop Action executive producer Eric Bischoff informed us "Controversy Creates Cash". This is the most glorious epidemic that BP could hope from our boardroom perspective. We couldn't buy this type of publicity! After all we all know that being that the oil business is a dirty business, some just get dirty without ever putting foot on a rig.

BP Tries to throw money at their mistakes

Citizens,

Oil giant BP tried to by their way out of trouble this weekend offering coastal residents confirmed in Alabama and potentially in other states around the Gulf, $5,000.00 for loss or damages in return not to sue the Fortune 500 company. Here's the Huffington Post with the full story.

Here is Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano explaining the Governments plan for the clean up process

Leaflet Decending

Friend of the Storm and owner of " The Leaflet " Sarah Coleman ON the Tallahassee Democrat website:

Logic 101

On one of my cross posts to the Tallahassee Democrat I was left a link beneath the following comment (it's noticeable that most of the comments are not related to the post itself, which consists solely of Gallup Poll graphs):
"...a socialist teacher abusing tax payer money go figure!"
It is worthwhile to look into smelly hyperlinks left on the blogosphere's doorstep because most of the time there is going to be information that goes against the point of linking it in the first place or they just failed to deduce the information with logic. For instance, the false dichotomy - one of the most basic logical fallacies learned in critical thinking.

The article was about the Oregon middle school teacher who is being investigated for using school hours for an anti-tea party website that encouraged others to attend their rallies in order to discredit the movement. He would do so by holding racist signs, wearing Hitler costumes and acting as irrational as possible to "embarrass" the party; a party already notorious for racist and irrational behavior. Levin said in an interview with Talking Points Memo,
"Our goal is that whenever a Tea Partier says 'Barack Obama was not born in America,' we're going be right there next to them saying, 'Yeah, in fact he wasn't born on Earth! He's an alien!'"
Some would hold both claims as equally outrageous. Now this teacher is being described as a comrade to socialism. In this conclusion, as defined by supporters of the tea party, anyone who is against their movement is a socialist. I guess I am socialist also for thinking that joining the tea party or being a socialist aren't the only two options. Or just thinking, period.

Additionally no post was inclined to focus on the fact that the investigation was launched only after the discovery of the website and that any possible evidence against Levin's misuse of school property are yet to be discovered.
